Why it happens on WooCommerce
- A caching plugin or CDN keeps serving an old copy of the product page after you change the price.
- Your shop shows prices without VAT while Google expects the price customers pay. In the UK and most of Europe, Google needs prices including VAT.
- A currency switcher or geolocation plugin shows Google’s crawler a different currency or price from your product data.
- A scheduled sale started or ended, and the page and your product data changed at different times.
How to fix it
- Open the product link from Merchant Center in a private window and note the price, including whether it shows VAT.
- In WooCommerce, go to Settings, then Tax, and check “Display prices in the shop”. For the UK and Europe, show prices including tax so the page matches what Google expects.
- Clear your caching plugin and CDN after every price change, or exclude product pages from long-term caching.
- If you use a currency switcher, make sure product pages show the price in the currency of the country you advertise in.
- Turn on automatic item updates in Merchant Center (or with one click in Merchant Guard). Google then uses the price and stock on your product page when they differ from your data, which stops most new mismatches from becoming disapprovals.
- Let Google recrawl the page. The issue clears once the page and your data match.
