Merchant Center shows this as “Promotional overlay or watermark on image” or similar wording. Here’s what it means and how to fix it.

One-click fixStops products showing

What it means

Main product images must show the product clearly, without promotional text, watermarks, logos or borders over it. Google detects these automatically and can disapprove the product.

How to fix it yourself

  1. Use a main image of the product on a plain background, with no text, badges, watermarks or borders.
  2. Put lifestyle or promotional images in additional image links instead of the main image.
  3. Update the image link at the source; Google re-crawls the image and reviews it again.
