How to fix “Product image problem” in Google Merchant Center

Merchant Center shows this as “Image link invalid or image requirements issue” or similar wording. Here’s what it means and how to fix it.

One-click fixLimits how products show

What it means

Product images need to be accessible and meet the requirements for the relevant product category and destination.

How to fix it yourself

  1. Open the exact image URL and confirm that it loads without authentication or an expiring session URL.
  2. Check that the image represents the product, is large and clear enough, and avoids promotional overlays where prohibited.
  3. Update the image URL in the source catalogue or feed and ensure image-host security does not block Google's crawler.
  4. Wait for the image to be fetched again and review the item diagnostics.

Based on Google’s help page: support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324350. Google changes its rules from time to time, so check the issue’s own “Learn more” link in Merchant Center too.
